Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the best cover in the history of ever.

As background, this is the cover to the book Buck Fever by Ben Rehder. It's the first in a series of wacky mysteries set in rural Texas -- reviewers often compare Rehder to Carl Hiassen. The American cover to this book shows a stag driving a convertible with a hunter tied to the back. Cute, no?

This proves without a doubt that I do not understand Japanese culture at all. I think I'll keep a picture of this around so that the next time an author complains about the cover of their book I can tell them that it could be worse and show them this.

If I can spot a gaping plot hole in the synopsis in your cover letter, I'm probably not going to sign the book.
